Oleg Znarok

Oleg Znarok ((ロシア語:Олег Валерьевич Знарок, ''Oleg Valerievich Znarok''), born 2 January 1963) is a Russian former ice hockey player, with German citizenship since 2001. Currently he is the coach of the Russian national hockey team.
==Playing career==
As player Znarok was known for his leadership on and off the ice, tough playing style and scoring ability. He begun his professional playing career in Dinamo Riga. Later in his career Znarok played mostly in Germany, most notably for EHC Freiburg. Znarok has played for Latvia and Soviet union internationally 50 and 9 games respectively.
Oleg Znarok is best remembered by Latvian hockey fans for scoring game tying goal against Switzerland in 1996 world championships B division, a goal that eventually brought Latvia into division A where they have stayed since.
